FREE

One of the most popular ways to generate traffic for free is by writing comments on other people's blogs. It is also one of the fastest ways to generate almost instant visitors.

The key to making this method successful is to make sure that you are in fact leaving helpful comments or well thought out questions for the other blog visitors. If you stop by a blog and leave quick comments such as "nice blog", it will not do much for getting you new visitors.

PAID

There are tons of ways to get paid visitors and traffic to your site but some of them are very risky in that they could cost you a small fortune if you aren't careful. One quick and easy way to get paid advertising is by posting a small text link ad or 125x125 in pixel size banner ad on your favorite blogs.

The thing that you have to research when using this method is whether or not the blog you want to advertise on actually offers advertising to outside parties. Normally, the ads are already visible on the site with a link readily available to buy an ad. However, if the link is not visible, it's best to simply email the site owner and see if they are willing to work with you. It is not unreasonable to find an ad spot for less than $20 a month but other, more established sites could cost in the hundreds.
